National Catholic Youth Conference: November 21st to 23rd, 2013. . . . . . . .On Wednesday, November 20th a group of our parish youth along with a few chaperones traveled to Indianapolis, ID, for the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) being held there from Nov. 21-23, 2013.
Their attendance at the conference was to join other youth from all over the United States to gather together with the hope of obtaining spiritual renewal and growth in their faith. Roughly 24,000 teens and their chaperones attended the conference. About 600 teens and adults traveled to Indianapolis from parishes and schools across our Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. Most youth found it amazing to see 20,000 to 30,000 people who all believe in God gathered in one place. Throngs of excited teens gathered in Lucas Oil Stadium to enjoy messages from the presenters and speakers, the music, hanging out with friends, watching the action and moments of silence that created a lasting memory. The teens joined in Eucharistic adoration and had opportunities to go to confession. They attended large sessions that brought everyone together and chose from a wide range of smaller breakout sessions to attend. The last night of the conference culminated in a huge Mass for all of the participants.
