Girl’s Basketball
The girl’s basketball team this year consists of 12 players and two coaches. The coaches this year are Greg Olberding and Jenise Schraad. According to Greg and Jenise “There is a lot of talent on the team.”
The girl’s basketball team is doing very well. They started the season by playing in the Wetmore pre-season tournament. The first game was against Bern, which they won without any trouble. The final game for first and second was against Emmett. S.P.P.S. lost, and received second place.
The first game of the actual season was played against Axtell. This game was won. The girls played against Baileyville in our new gym. During this game the girls really put up a fight. It was a very close game throughout the entire game, however, the girls ended up losing by seven. Nice try girls you’ll get them in the tournament. Their record is now 3-2. Good Luck Girls!!!

Boys’ Basketball
Kale Rottinghaus is the coach for the S.P.P.S. boys’ basketball team. He was the coach last year that led the boys to an O.T.L. championship. This year there are only six boys in the seventh and eighth grades, so the sixth grade boys are also playing. The boys placed third in the Wetmore preseason tournament. They have had three regular season games and are 1-2. S.P.P.S. beat Baileyville in a nail biter at our new gym. It was very exciting! Good luck with the rest of the season. We’ll be there cheering you on!
