Third Grade 2009-2010
April 2010 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The third grade was very busy during Easter and Lent. They did many things. Some projects they completed were making Easter baskets, Easter crosses, and rainbows. During Easter break, a lot of kids went to their Grandparent’s house. Most of the kids got candy for Easter. YUM!! Before Easter, a lot of kids gave up things that they love for Lent. Pop and candy were some of the main things they gave up, but there is more. Some kids gave up watching movies, playing video games, playing games on the computer, and fighting with their brothers and sisters.
In religion, they started their Family Life books. Fossils are the main topic that they have been studying in science. During science one day, the class went out and picked up rocks off the sidewalk and off of the grass. Two digit multiplication has been the main part of their math class. During recess the class has been playing tag, and some have been playing basketball. This class has just finished with their Kansas Assessments. Mrs. Steinlage comments. “This class did really well on their Kansas Assessments.” It looks like these third graders have been very busy and are doing a great job in school. In computer class, they enjoy A.R., math facts, and power point. They also enjoyed making a pattern.
They made sand paintings and turkeys for art. The third grade enjoyed a hayrack ride on Halloween. They are also excited to be pen pals with the fifth grade at Centralia. They say that they enjoy everything about school and are excited for the rest of the year.
