Here are some photos of Thursday, “The Year of the Priest” Day. Students
wore their SPPS shirts and attended and participated in the mass with St.
Michael’s students and Fr. Albert, Fr. Jim, and Fr. Mike.
The students after Mass enjoyed a sack lunch in the cafeteria. After lunch, the students were able to visit and play for awhile before the assembly began.
At 12:30, students and staff met in the gym for “Meet Your Priest”, at which
the students were able to ask the priest questions in order to find out more
about them. During this time, the students were able to see that the
priests grew up as ordinary kids, just like them. They also learned more
about why they decided to become a priest, where they grew up, and other
intriguing information about their lives.
The first couple photos show the kids participating in what we call the “Catholic Rollercoaster” as they waited for the assembly with the priests to begin.
Father Mike answers a question while Fr. Albert and Fr. Jim listen.
Father Jim gives a fun answer.
Fourth grader, Bailey Liby asks the priests a question.
This last photo shows the whole student body and staff giving the priests
their blessing at the end of the assembly.
